I’m using the UNC to access XML data from an InfoPath form Library using code. When I first try to load a document after the user PC has started then I get a ‘network path not found error’, but if I then open the path in file explorer and re-run the code then it opens the file. SharePoint is running on a different domain.

Does anyone know how to get the network path recognised without having to manually open the loaction in file explorer.

Hey Ron, I had the same problem on my system and thought i’d show you how I solved it on my end. Basically when running cmd.exe as admin and you either know the file path to the file or managed to “cd” your way to the folder with the file, you then can type: START /WAIT CScript \.vbs //NoLogo, where in the place of “\.vbs” you put either the file path (example being c:\Program Files\OffScrub10.vbs), or just place the filename itself if you are in the folder. It should work from there.

I followed the instructions and got the the admin box. Problem is when I cut and paste the path to the file it doesn’t work. It says “the file is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file”. I’m going on 20 hours of frustration trying to get this resolved. please help.

Good info. However for some companies like MediaTemple they have the Weight and Priority fields order switched.

Oups,

Doesn’t work with me…
Il created a local “Administrator2″ Account on my SharePoint server, then added it as administrator of the Search Service, then ran your script, and verified that the rights were added (I could see a log in the event viewer) but the problem was still there.
Any idea?

This helped a lot as MS used the denali Engine for SQL Azure Reporting in the Cloud and switched off EXCEL 2003. So there was just a nice Unsupported Extension error message.

It still didn’t work for me. In the video URLs, I had to change spc/videos into spc/s/videos.
Still the pages came back with ‘Forbidden’, so then I added the hash key I noticed on the download link to the file name. This key added to the URL seemed to be the same for each video download on the MySPC website.
That did the trick, the batch file then started downloading the files.

Thanks for the mention, but Nintex Workflow actually logs all workflow activity to a SQL Server database in parallel, for all of the reasons you note above. That database’s schema is publish and waiting to be audited and queried whenever one wants. Still, this is great advice for non-Nintex customers — nice post.

Hi John,

After i click on publish/Save, it is throwing an error on the site as below

“The file that you selected could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name and verify that the location is correct. Make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted”

I have followed all the steps as you have mentioned. But, could not able to tract why it is throwing this error.

if you getting the insuffienant permisson error. Open cmd prompt as admin by opening run box type in CMD right click name/file run as aministator. then ul get window of comand prompt. then in type in the file of vbs enter. that will allow access permissions for it to run properly.
